What is required to get
certified? To
become a certified diver, you must complete three training elements:
1) Academic Home Study
- This is where you read a text book and watch a DVD to learn about scuba diving subjects including: The Diving
Environment, Equipment, Diving Physiology, Dive Planning and more.
2) Confined Water
Training - This is where your Scuba Instructor will teach you
how to assemble your equipment, enter and exit the water, and all the
basic skills of diving. Our pool is on-site, is a warm 90 degrees
year 'round, and 12+ feet deep. This portion of the training is a lot
of fun! 3)
Open Water Training - This is where you get to go diving! You will
go on four dives under the supervision of a Scuba Instructor in the
Ocean, Lake or Quarry. Most of your time on these dives will be
exploring the underwater world, and you will spend a few minutes on each
dive repeating some of the skills you learned in the pool. This is
so much fun! After that, your CERTIFIED!
