SeaVentures CoronaVirus/COVID-19 Updates

March 30, 2020 Update for all areas of SeaVentures business:

Effective March 17th, 2020, in compliance with U.S. Government advisories regarding COVID-19 virus, SeaVentures will be closed until April 30, 2020.

Unfortunately, we must POSTPONE so many great things!

We will reschedule our 30th Anniversary Event, the March Keys trip, and all scuba and swim classes.

We feel this break, call it “social distancing” or self-quarantining, is the right thing to do. We will NOT be staffing the store as we want to help “flatten the curve” of this outbreak.  As a family-owned small business, this is a very difficult decision. We employee 11 full time staff and 7 part time staff and are very concerned for their wellbeing. At this difficult time, please consider supporting small businesses like SeaVentures by shopping online at shop.seaventures.com,  You can still begin your scuba classes online by completing the digital materials! The first three chapters of your open water digital materials are FREE on the mySSI App when you affiliate with SeaVentures. If you’d like to access the entire kit, register here. You can also register for specialty classes online and receive the digital kits through the mySSI app by clicking here.  We will be monitoring our emails and social media outlets from our homes to answer any of your questions.

Currently, we anticipate resuming activities on May 1.

Wishing you the best of health.

30th Anniversary Event

We appreciate your continued support of SeaVentures and the amazing response to our upcoming Anniversary Event. We always consider diver safety our number one priority, and as such must make changes to our Anniversary Event activities.
Since our anniversary event kicks off the diving season with fantastic deals in equipment, we didn’t want you to miss out. We will still offer the equipment discounts March 21-22 so you don’t miss a dive but save the big party and prizes for later when the air on the surface has cleared a little!
We will still be offering FREE Try Scubas Saturday 2-5 pm and Sunday 12-4 pm and FREE t-shirts to the first 50 people to come by both days. In order to relieve concerns of crowds and spread of germs while still allowing everyone to participate, we are accepting purchases via email and phone that will be offered at the same price as in store.
We HIGHLY encourage that if you are sick, please do not attend the sale, instead you can take advantage of the event either via email or phone. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer the seminars or food truck services for this weekend. We are postponing the seminars and full event celebration to a later date. All Grand Prizes will be raffled off at that time. If you participate in the sale March 21-22, all equipment purchases will be submitted for the Grand Prize Raffle at the later date so you all will have the chance to win some really big prizes!
We always strive to have a clean, well-run store, but we have taken additional precautions for the Anniversary Event in light of recent events:
  • Hand Sanitizer will be available upon entrance.
  • We have fully stocked bathrooms with antibacterial soap and a hand dryer and/or paper towels.
  • Touch points around the facility are being sanitized and wiped down 3 times a day.
  • Rental gear is sanitized after each use.
  • The pool chemicals are tested 3 times a day to ensure proper chlorine levels. Because of this, our chlorinated pool is one of the safest and most sanitary places to be since it immediately kills germs.
  • Masks will be wiped down after each fitting.
Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate this challenging situation one day at a time and determine how best to continue serving our swimmers and divers.
We are grateful for your loyalty and are committed to providing you with a great experience. This situation continues to change quickly, so we will remain vigilant, continue to monitor the situation, and update our guests with new policies and procedures as they arise.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at godive@seaventures.com.
Your SeaVentures Staff

SeaVentures Travelers

The last month has brought about a new world where everyone must evaluate whether they will continue life as they planned or make adjustments. Our first concern is, and always has been, for your safety in diving. The SeaVentures travel program is fortunate that we do not cater to large crowds, but a smaller, familiar group of divers.

We always recommend travel insurance, however, most companies do not cover pandemic events. If you have a “cancel for any reason” policy and purchased prior to March 9, 2020, you are most likely covered in case the trip is cancelled. If a trip is cancelled, we will refund any money returned to us by the hotel or dive operator. There are no travel bans to any of our destinations at this time, including our Keys, Springs, & International trips.

With that in mind, at this time, all SeaVentures trips are scheduled to continue as planned. If you are traveling, here are a few travel tips:

  • Purchase Travel Insurance.
  • Know your health status before you make travel plans.
  • Wipe down seats on the plane, tray tables, and close the vents.
  • Keep wet wipes with you as you attend places with larger crowds.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation daily and advise you of any changes in our itineraries.

SeaVentures Swimmers

We appreciate your continued support of SeaVentures and our Swim Program and we always consider student’s safety our number one priority. Amid rising concerns about the flu, and the potential threat for other viruses, we want to share with you measures we are taking to keep our facility clean and safe for our swimmers.
Steps Taken By SeaVentures to Ensure a Clean, Safe Environment
  • Our facility is cleaned nightly to ensure a safe and sanitary area for you and your children.
  • We have fully stocked bathrooms with antibacterial soap and a hand dryer. We will also have paper towels available in the bathrooms for the remainder of this cold and flu season. Please have your child wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer upon entering our facility to ensure the health of all our patrons.
  • For the remainder of this month, if a child comes to class displaying symptoms of an upper respiratory illness (cough, fever, runny nose) we will happily schedule a make-up class for that child and send them home to rest and recover.
  • We’re limiting hugs for now! We love loving on your kids, but right now we’ll do our best to give fist bumps and elbow taps rather than hugs or high fives!! Encourage your children to do this with their friends at school as well!
  • For the month of March, if your child is sick, they will receive a make-up class as soon as they are feeling better without the need for a Doctor’s Note!
Steps That YOU Should Take to Keep Your Child Healthy & Prevent the Spread of Germs
  • If your child is too sick to go to school, then please keep them home! Children should be symptom free and fever free (without the use of medication) for at least 24 hours before they return to school or SeaVentures.
  • Encourage your child (and you too) to use good hand washing practices. The simple act of washing with soap and water could drastically reduce the transmission of cold, flu, and other viruses. Lather up and sing Happy Birthday twice before you rinse!
  • Encourage them to cover their mouth and nose with a tissue when they cough or sneeze (and then throw away the tissue). If they don’t have a tissue, encourage kids to use their arm or sleeve to cover a sneeze or a cough.
We adore your kids and will do everything in our power to keep them safe, happy, and healthy while they are training at SeaVentures. If you have any questions, please see a member of our staff or you can reach us at swim@seaventures.com.

SeaVentures Scuba Classes

Amid rising concerns about the Coronavirus, we want to share with you the policies and procedures SeaVentures has put in place to take care of our students. If you exhibit any symptoms, we encourage you to stay home. If a student is sick prior to class, they will be rescheduled once they are feeling better. If a student become ill during class, we will schedule a free make-up session for them once they are feeling better.

Measures we are currently taking to ensure the cleanliness of our facility are:

  • Our pool area is cleaned nightly to ensure a safe and sanitary area for you and our students.
  • We have fully stocked bathrooms with antibacterial soap and a hand dryer. We will also have paper towels available in the bathrooms for the remainder of this cold and flu season.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will also be available in various areas of the facility.
  • Touch points around the facility are being sanitized and wiped down 3 times a day.
  • Rental gear is sanitized after each use.
  • Pool chemicals are tested 3 times a day to ensure proper chlorine levels. Because of this, our chlorinated pool is one of the safest and most sanitary places to be since it immediately kills germs.
  • We are limiting physical contact with our students to only what is necessary to perform skills.
  • Masks are wiped down after each fitting.

Please wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer upon entering our facility to ensure the health of all our patrons.

Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate this challenging situation one day at a time and determine how best to continue serving our swimmers and divers.
