Many of the ocean’s best dive sites have artificial reefs, or wrecks that have sunk through the ages. The SSI Advanced Wreck Diving course gives you the skills and knowledge required to safely scuba dive within wrecks using advanced techniques.
This program allows limited penetration within the daylight zone into wrecks with an overhead environment. The training required for this type of diving includes:
– Overhead buoyancy control
– New finning techniques
– Laying safety line
– Proper use of a dive light
You must be 12 years old or older and have a minimum certification level of Open Water Diver, plus the SSI Wreck Diving specialty, to complete the SSI Advanced Wreck Diving course. It requires two open water dives. This class is usually scheduled in conjunction with a SeaVentures trip.
