Coral reefs are the building blocks of many ocean ecosystems. Everyone likes to scuba dive or snorkel in warm, clear water on a vibrant coral reef, yet many people know little about what they’re seeing or the importance of reef ecosystems.
The SSI Coral Identification program teaches you the skills and concepts required to recognize and identify common families of coral species. It also helps you appreciate the complexity of these habitats and teaches you how you can help conserve these vital systems.
You must be 10 years old or older to complete the SSI Coral Identification class. Anyone, including non-certified divers, can take this course.
