Stress is a major cause of diving accidents and negatively impacts rescue situations. The SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course will help you to be prepared and aware in order to avoid, recognize and solve problems both on the surface and underwater if they ever arise. It is rewarding course which teaches you some very useful skills, creating an all around more confident and aware diver.
During the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course, you will take part in a combination of academic and pool/open water sessions. In order to prevent accidents, you will learn about:
– Causes and prevention
– Detecting and dealing with stress
– Accident management
– Skills to deal with panic
– Conditions which could complicate rescues
To complete this program, you must be 12 years old or older and possess a minimum certification of Open Water Diver.
To complete this specialty will require the following:
– Completion of Online Digital Learning Materials
– 2 Classroom Sessions
– 2 Pool Dives
– 3 Open Water Dives
– Current (within 2 years) React Right or equivalent CPR, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certification.
