“What was that fish?” is a common question heard after a dive. Be the scuba diver with the answers instead of questions by taking the SSI Fish Identification course. You’ll enjoy your dives even more when you recognize the creatures that you see.
The ocean is filled with fascinating and beautiful fish of every shape and size. Learn the skills required to identify common families of Caribbean, Indo-Pacific, and Red Sea reef fish through this non-diving specialty program.
You must be 10 years old or older and have a minimum certification level of Referral Diver to complete the SSI Fish Identification class. There are no pool or open water dives required. If desired, it can be taken in conjunction with SSI Open Water Diver. The certification will be issued upon completion of SSI Open Water Diver.

This course is a part of SeaVentures’ Ecology & Conservation Program. Between now and September 2019, take this class and you’ll receive one free ticket for a supplemental experience at Georgia Aquarium ($35 value!). Check the Ecology & Conservation Program page for more details.
