How does our diving affect the ecosystem? What’s happening with our oceans? Where have all the sharks gone? How can we as divers make a difference? All these questions and more will be answered on the SSI Marine Ecology course, where you will learn more about the element that covers 72% of our blue planet.
This program provides a general understanding of the complex and exciting science of marine ecology, which is the study of how organisms interact with each other and the environment, the flow of energy through communities, and the link between ocean ecosystems.
You must be 10 years old or older to complete the SSI Marine Ecology class. Anyone, including non-certified divers, can take this course. There are no pool or open water dives required. If desired, it can be taken in conjunction with SSI Open Water Diver. The certification will be issued upon completion of SSI Open Water Diver.
