Water motion can have a tremendous effect on your diving experience. The SSI Waves, Tides, & Currents program gives you the skills and knowledge required to conduct dives from shore, in currents, and in different types of waves.
During this course, you learn “dry” skills like analyzing tide charts, examining currents from the surface, and planning a dive in strong current. You then apply your skills underwater, incorporating those skills in the actual dives. New skills including how to make a negative entry, drift dive, and make use of an SMB in drift diving.
You must be 12 years old or older & possess a minimum certification level of Open Water Diver to take this course. Two open water dives are required. This class is usually scheduled in conjunction with a SeaVentures trip. Click here to see our trip calendar!
